A virtuoso on the alto, soprano,
and tenor saxophones, as well as the unique EWI breath controller,
Jaared is an internationally acclaimed recording artist. He is
also an accomplished singer, who often brings the house down
with his vocals.
Jaared entered the Washington, D.C., music scene at a very young age, rapidly
gaining prominence for his work on the alto sax. As he continued as a full-time
entertainer, he received more and more recognition for his music, and was soon
known to audiences all over the world. Always wanting to keep things fresh, Jaared
chose to expand his musical message with the soprano sax, EWI, and tenor sax,
and now plays all three, while continuing with his main voice, the alto sax.
His soaring soprano is one of the sweetest you will ever hear.
In 2002, Jaared was nominated as ‘Best New Artist of the Year’ by the National
Smooth Jazz Association. The beauty of his playing and his ability to connect
with his audience, whether recorded or live, has gained him international acclaim.
His first release, Foreward, included a remake of the Chante Moore song,
“Love’s Taken Over.” Jaared’s version hit the charts in the United Kingdom, Japan,
and the United States. Jaared’s other releases include Hangtime, Addiction,
and his latest, Manhattan Nights. He is signed to Trippin
‘N’ Rhythm Records, an international label associated with Sony/BMG.
Jaared has performed in Dubai, South Africa, West Africa, Poland, Germany, Austria,
and other places in Europe; and all over the U.S. Loved in the United States;
with a huge and dedicated fan base in Europe, where he also regularly performs,
Jaared also gains international fans daily. Jaared is a regular guest interviewee
on many radio shows in the United States and Europe. A generous collaborator,
Jaared is a favorite of the talented guitarist, Peter White, who often asks Jaared
to perform on Peter’s shows when Jaared’s schedule permits.
Jaared’s live shows are electric. He values the support of his fans, connecting
with the audience in a way that few performers ever master. Listening to Jaared
play, while seeing him live, is a fabulous entertainment experience. Jaared has
assembled a band of top-notch musicians, but has also lent his talent to the
shows of others such as Maysa, Peter White, Gregg Karukas, Dan Aykroyd, Freddie
Jackson, and more. He was recently a headliner on the Network Jazz Stage at the
Skywards International Jazz Festival in Dubai, where he was a smashing success.
Jaared was the only Trippin’N’ Rhythm artist asked to headline in this event.
In the words of the event manager, “I have never the seen people this excited.
People in Dubai just don’t scream and clap like this. I am amazed.” However,
once you hear Jaared, you will know why!
Jaared’s fourth CD, Manhattan Nights, is a sophisticated follow-up to
his Addiction CD. Produced by Grammy award-winning producer Michael
Broening, the Manhattan Nights release date is March 30, 2010. It features
guest musicians Tim Bowman, Cindy Bradley, Jay Soto, and the former brassmen
from ‘Tower Of Power’, Greg Adams, Lee Thornburg, and Bill Churchville, and many
more.
Comprised of 14 tracks, Manhattan Nights includes a
cover of the Bee Gees song, “How Deep Is Your Love.” Jaared’s sensual vocals
on this song will make your heart flutter. The first single, “Always Together,”
is already climbing the charts. |
